• Dear Families,

Happy Daylight Savings Monday! Today has been a busy one. Please take some time to review our latest Lion’s Roar which includes some important spring updates for our entire Lindenwold community.

Furthermore, as you may have heard, we had a small fire in the LHS cafeteria this morning. Thanks to the quick-thinking actions of our cafeteria staff, it was immediately extinguished. However, due to our inability to serve lunch, we implemented an early dismissal for students.

Following our emergency protocols, we promptly evacuated the high school and contacted both the Lindenwold Fire Department and the Department of Health. After a thorough inspection, the Fire Department has confirmed that the building is safe to reopen on Tuesday, March 10, 2025.

Most importantly, everyone was safe! Our students were outstanding—demonstrating patience, cooperation, and respect for emergency procedures.

This event serves as a good reminder of our District safety protocols. Please visit our website for more details on:

In a real emergency, please remember the following:

✔️ After ensuring safety, the District will communicate directly with families. LHS families were notified today about the early dismissal and bus schedules as soon as we were able.  This information was communicated via text, email, telephone, and on our social media accounts (Facebook & Instagram).
✔️ Families should refrain from coming to campus until the emergency is cleared. We appreciate your cooperation today, as it allowed emergency personnel to do their jobs effectively. Thank you!
✔️ Students should remember that all school rules apply during emergencies, including cell phone use. Cell phones cause distraction during a time when we need everyone’s attention.  IN addition, cell phone use has the potential to spread inaccurate information on social media which can cause unnecessary panic in the community.

While no one ever wants to face an emergency, today’s response showcased the strength and resilience of our community. I sincerely appreciate everyone who contributed to a smooth and calm resolution:

    • Our LHS cafeteria staff for their quick thinking and outstanding professionalism.
    • Our custodial and maintenance staff for their swift response and support.
    • Our bus drivers and transportation staff for their flexibility and immediate adjustments—when we needed them, they were there!
    • Our crossing guards for quickly adapting their schedules to ensure student safety.
    • Our emergency responders for their rapid, professional response.
    • Our staff and administration for maintaining order, reassurance, and a sense of calm.
    • Our families and students for their patience, understanding, and cooperation.

Thank you all for your commitment to safety and teamwork!  Today is a great day to take some time and review the above website resources to keep our dedication to safety in the forefront of all of our minds.
