Annual Notices
Each year, school districts throughout the state are required by different state and federal laws to notify parents, guardians and staff about certain policies and procedures that affect the school community. Please review the list below of important annual notifications for the 2024-2025 school year.
FERPA, PPRA, ESSA and Title I Right to Know
This is our annual FERPA, PPRA, ESSA and Title I Right to Know notice of parental/guardian rights under the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), the Protection of Pupil Rights Amendment (PPRA) and the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) and important information for parents in Title I schools. These notices include information on:
1) A parent’s right to inspect/amend education records;
2) The release of certain directory information without written consent (e.g. yearbook, honor roll, graduation programs) and your right to instruct us to not release that information;
3) Your rights regarding the district’s use of surveys and certain physical exams; and
4) A letter informing parents of their “Right to Know’’ qualifications of teachers and our parental involvement policy #2415.04.Harassment, Intimidation and BullyingA copy of our district policy against Bullying, Harassment and Intimidation (Policy #5512). It is important to note that this policy applies to all acts of harassment, intimidation and bullying that occur on school property, at school-sponsored functions, on a school bus and, as appropriate, acts that occur off school grounds. We encourage you to talk to your child about this subject and to discuss the protection offered through this policy. All parents/guardians, students, or community members can report an incident of alleged bullying by clicking here or by contacting the building principal of the school where the victim/target of the alleged incident attends. This information includes how parents can limit a child’s exposure to violence on television, cell phones, computers, and other electronic devices.Media Release FormsLindenwold Public Schools is proud of the many accomplishments of our students. We often film and take pictures at student events. These photos and videos are used for the District Channel 192, our district website, district social media pages, and other publications. In accordance with Board Policy #9120, If you do not wish to have your child’s individual likeness included in these publications, you must complete the attached form (ENG & SPA) and return to your child's school.Supervision at DismissalPer Board Policy #8601, any parent(s) or legal guardian(s) of a student attending a district-operated school or program in grades Kindergarten to four, where the student is not eligible for district-provided transportation or is eligible and elects not to use district-provided transportation after dismissal may request the school or program not release the student to walk home after dismissal unless the student is released to the parent(s) or legal guardian(s) or escort(s) designated by the parent(s) or legal guardian(s). You will receive a letter and sign-up form from your child(ren)'s school in September. Please contact the school main office with any questions on this program.Food Service NotificationsPlease see the USDA non-discrimination disclosures.Meal Applications for Free/Reduced MealsPlease visit our Free/Reduced Meal Applications page for information on completing a meal application. A NEW meal application is required each school year for each household.Outstanding Food Service Charges PolicyPlease review our Outstanding Food Service Charges Policy, which explains how the district will handle instances when a student may accrue an outstanding balance for food service charges. The State of New Jersey urges parents of students in 6th and 7th grades to pay particular attention to this meningitis and HPV information.MeningitisIntegrated Pest ManagementThe district is required to have an integrated pest management policy (#7422) regarding the use of pesticides in our buildings. Our annual IPM plans list the pesticides used over the past year, as well as contact information to discuss these issues. Please visit our Facilities- Integrated Pest Management Plans page to see our annual IPM Plans for each building.Water Lead TestingIn accordance with N.J.A.C. 6A:26-12.4, school districts are required to test for lead in drinking water beginning with the designated Statewide 2021-2022 testing year. Visit our Facilities - Lead Testing Results page to see all Lindenwold Public School buildings' test results and notification of any building locations that exceeded acceptable limits.Asbestos ManagementIn compliance with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Asbestos Hazard Emergency Response Act (AHERA), Lindenwold Public School District is required annually to inform all parents, teachers and staff as to the availability of our asbestos management plan as well as any activities which have taken place in the previous year.
