Cathy Moncrief
President
Cathy Moncrief has lived in Lindenwold for 38 years where she raised her two daughters, Kelly and Shannon. She coached softball for 10 years in Lindenwold and has served on the Board of Education since 1991, president since 1996. She has served on every committee of the Board and is a Master Board Member as well as being named the New Jersey Board Member of the Year in 2007. She has served on the Special Education Committee of NJSBA for over 10 years having just finished a six year term on the Board of Directors. After graduating from Sterling High School, Mrs. Moncrief furthered her education at Rutgers University earning a B.A. in Spanish and Glassboro State College earning a M.A. in Curriculum and Instruction in Spanish. Mrs. Moncrief has been a Spanish teacher for 30 years and is currently Supervisor of World Languages in Washington Township.

Kevin McGahey
Vice President
Kevin McGahey was first elected to the Board of Education in 1992 and has served as Vice President since 1998. During this tenure he has served each committee of the Board and is certified by the New Jersey School Boards Association as a Master School Board Member. The McGahey family, Pat his wife and children Meghan, Kevin, Sean and Danny, have resided in Lindenwold for 23 years. Over these years the family has been involved with almost all of the sports organizations the town has to offer. Kevin received his certification as Registered Public Purchasing Official from Rutgers and is a Qualified Purchasing Agent in the State. He is currently a co-adjunct Instructor for Rutgers University and Director of Materials Management for the Camden County Health Services Center.

Marsha Hershman
Marsha Hershman has lived in Lindenwold for over 30 years. She has served as a member of the Lindenwold Board of Education since 1997. She is a master board member and a certified board leader. She serves on the Standards and Assessment Committee and chairs the Urban Boards Committee of the NJ School Boards Association, she is also a Representative to the Board of Directors and the Delegate Assembly and is President of the Camden Country School Boards Association. After graduating from Cleveland Heights High School, Ms Hershman continued her education at Ohio State University and Bowling Green State University. She is an adjunct professor at Rowan University. She is also a speech-language pathologist doing cognitive therapy for Psych Dynamics in Cherry Hill. Ms. Hershman is a docent at the Philadelphia Zoo and was previously active with the Animal Adoption Center. Currently, she is a strong supporter and member of the Theatre Guild.

Pam Bragg
Pam Bragg was appointed to the Board of Education in 2005. She has a strong knowledge of business and of work in the public sector. As a community member before coming on the Board, she served on the District’s Minority Hiring Committee and has since chaired the Uniform Committee and served on the Policy Committee.

Alethia Gibbs-Smith
Alethia Gibbs-Smith has lived in Lindenwold for 30 years and has served the Board of Education since 2003. She graduated from Wallace Consolidated School, Glassboro State College and Rowan University. Ms. Gibbs-Smith is married and proud mother of three girls. She has been a long standing educator with the Camden Public Schools and tutors students at her Church and in the community. She serves as the Board’s Representative to the Camden County Ed Services Commission.

Jo-Ann Engels
Originally from Philadelphia, Jo-Ann Engels moved to Lindenwold in 2007. She was appointed to the Board in January 2017. A graduate of West Catholic High School, Ms. Engels attended Community College of Philadelphia and Chestnut Hill College. She has worked in the field of leadership and talent development for a management consulting firm in Center City Philadelphia.

Daniel O'Rourke
Daniel O’Rourke has been a resident of Lindenwold since 2013. Daniel and his wife have four wonderful children and three beautiful grandchildren. Prior to moving to Lindenwold, Daniel retired from the Department of Corrections. During that time, he also was a volunteer firefighter and an Assistant Aikido Instructor to children.
In 2014, Daniel started his journey in Cub Scouts with his son. He later became a leader and council member of the Cub Scout pack. In 2015, Daniel saw a need for Cub Scouts in Lindenwold and founded Cub Scout Pack 120. As Cubmaster, he took every training class he could, including classes on working with special needs children. He served as Vice-President of his church. Daniel also spent a year on the Parks and Recreation committee for the Lindenwold Borough.
Daniel looks forward to using his time as a member of the Board of Education to continue being involved in the community while always having the best interest of our youth in mind.
